Dear Friends,
I want to thank you for helping make 2008 one of our better years. We couldn’t
have done it without you. You, our wonderful customer, make this business a joy.
Sometimes, however, priorities have to change and that is where we find
ourselves right now.
After much soul-searching and a lot of prayer, Wally and I have decided that we
will not be doing mail-order sales this year due to increased family
responsibilities and other pressing matters. Quite honestly we have so much on
our plate right now, we need to give ourselves a little breathing room. We have
Wally’s 97 year old father with us now and are looking to perhaps having my 95
year old mother with us at least part of the year also. Wally’s Dad is unable to
get around much so requires a lot of care. Fortunately, my Mom is able to care
for herself but she is partially blind from macular degeneration. We also
need to do some major renovations in the daylily garden. We did put in a new bed
last year and renovated several other beds but we still have a lot more to do.
After saying all of that, I do hope to have a Super Sale this Spring or Fall. We
have a lot of plants in the field and need to clear some of them out so check
back often for information on that. Most of these plants will be of the oldies
but goodies variety but not all.
We have decided not to hold Open Gardens weekends this year. Just not
enough time and with all of the rain we have had, we have not been able to get
into the gardens to weed and do what we need to do to get the beds into shape.
The plants have never looked better, but unfortunately, neither have the weeds
I am not doing a catalog this year for obvious reasons, but I will be updating
the website as I have time.
Wally and I thank you for your support in the past and look forward to providing
you with wonderful daylilies again. In the meantime, I will miss you.
