Welcome to 2008 Daylilies at
Possum Ridge Farm and Gardens.
Welcome to our 2008 Online catalog. Thanks to each
of you for your part in making 2007 our best year ever! In spite of the terrible
weather, our business continues to grow and we owe it all to you. You have been
a blessing to us and we appreciate your business. If you have never ordered from
us, we hope you will give us an opportunity to earn your business in 2008.
We had very successful Dazzling Daylily Days events in spite of the heat and
hope that this year you will plan on attending. We love meeting you, our
customers, and enjoy the time we can spend with you. We look forward to this
time all year long. The dates this year are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June
20 - 22, June 27 – 29, July 4 – 6, and July 11 – 13. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Check out the
Directions for how to find us. We would love to show you our gardens. If you
have never seen a mass of daylilies in peak bloom, you cannot imagine what an
awesome sight it is.
 One
of the reasons I love daylilies so much is because of their toughness and how
they stand up to adversity. As so many of you know from first hand experience,
the weather last year was a challenge, to say the least. First, we had that
surprise week of freezing weather in April (the evergreens got the shock of
their life!); followed by the seemingly endless days of 100 degree temperatures;
and, if that wasn’t enough, we had to struggle through the summer with no rain.
Well, any plant that can survive all of that and comes out with its head held
high is a winner in my book. And all the plants listed in this year’s catalog
are winner’s. Not listed are plants which survived but have not fully recovered
and are shown as Display Only. Hopefully I will be able to make them available
to you later in the year. We invite you to take a look through our Online
Catalog for the plants we now have available.
Other plants listed as Display Only include those we lined out last year (may be
available later), new ones we purchased, as well as those we simply need to hold
for increase. We did sell out of many varieties last year and consequently they
are in limited supply. We expect these plants to sell out very quickly so order
early so as not to be disappointed. You might even want to eMail or call first
to make sure they are available.
Prices listed are for at least a large blooming size double fan. However, we try
to send at least 3 fans or more if supply permits. We send only healthy,
disease-free plants which are dipped in fungicide or Chlorox solution prior to
shipment. We will not ship any plants with visible signs of disease.
At your request, we have added a Lay-Away Program and also are now offering Gift
Certificates. More details are on the Ordering and Shipping page.
You are welcome to visit at any time from May through September; however,
we do not maintain regular garden hours so please do call first to make sure we
are at home. We would hate to miss you. We are usually in the gardens early and
work until dark so the best time to call is early in the morning before 8:00
a.m. or after 8:30 p.m. EST. If you don’t reach us, leave a message. We will be
glad to call you back.
Wally and I are looking forward to another wonderful daylily season, renewing
